Custom Cherry Cabinets – Before and After

We completed this custom cherry kitchen here for a couple here on Camano Island, WA this past September. The change was quite dramatic from the kitchen before.

Country Style Farmhouse on Camano Island

We completed this country style kitchen here on Camano Island, WA April of 2016. This was a fun project, as our customer had some wonderful ideas.

We are so happy to be involved in making this house their new home!

Incorporating a plate rack is a nice way to soften a kitchen and give it a farmhouse look. Though we are now seeing them in more traditional and even modern kitchens. This is nice with the open areas to the side of the plate rack and the beadboard in the back. The cabinet doors and drawer fronts are inset in this kitchen. The brick backsplash is a nice addition to this kitchen.

This kitchen has a few unique features. The different depth of cabinets along with the beadboard give it a very unique and custom look. The doors use chicken wire behind the glass to go one step further with the country look.

In many of these country kitchens you see wonderful white ceramic pitchers, bowls and plates. This hand painted ceramic collection adds a wonderful touch to a kitchen.

Farmhouse Kitchen

The open shelf area is nice way to break up a wall of cabinets and gives you a nice display area.
Many refrigerators are available that accept custom cabinetry panels – In this case, rather than use a panel that matched the cabinets, they used an panel that they painted with Chalkboard Paint. What a fun idea!

This is a natural cherry kitchen. The doors and drawer fronts are inset with a bead. The island is a soft yellow with beadboard. The glass doors have wood mullions to give it a nice craftsman look. A unique feature in this kitchen is the open area for pots and pans below the stovetop. The use of the white subway tiles is also something used frequently in the farmhouse or country look. The inset in the tile by the stove for your cooking oils in a very nice touch.

This kitchen uses a combination of knobs and cup pulls in a pewter finish.

I wasn’t able to find the exact knobs used in this kitchen, but we have had a few customers use the Provence Collection in their county kitchens. I did locate the ceiling light in this kitchen and another one that is similar. Looking for more ideas on country lighting.

I love this sliding barndoor with the chalkboard in this kitchen, it hides a storage area. We had a customer have a pantry door done with the chalkboard and have just loved this idea since. It was fun as we were coming for dinner, so she had the menu written on the chalkboard and included my husband’s pie as dessert. You can buy the chaulkboard paint at your hardware store and I found the exact barn door kit shown in the picture.
